In order to take advantage of Sniffie’s ecommerce capabilities, you need to make sure you name your columns. Naming columns is easy. Here’s how you do it.

All columns named by you have a distinct color

This allows you easily to see which columns still need naming.

Giving a predefined name to a column in Sniffie table

  1. Click the column operations button at the top of the column.

  2. Select any of the names in the list by clicking. You can filter the list by typing at the top where “Column name” reads next to the search icon. Note that you can scroll the list for more options.

  3. Some of the options have “>” icon next to their name. This allows you to set special connotations (e.g. currency) to these columns. When you hover on these, a submenu will open. When you click on the item in the submenu, the column name and its special connotation is automatically set.
  4. When you click on the name, the column name is automatically set.

Please note that you need to set product name & price columns to make sure the product is entered to your product catalogue.

Giving a custom name to a column in Sniffie table

  1. Click the column operations button at the top of the column.
  2. Select “Other” from the list.
  3. Write anything on the input field that appears.

  4. Press enter (or stop writing and wait a bit). Your custom column name has now been set.

Sometimes Sniffie automatically names columns for you

Sniffie tries its best to make your workload as light as possible. Thus, it tries to name columns for you if it sure that the column is exactly what it is looking for. Sniffie will get better at auto-detecting columns over time. 🙂

You don’t need to name all your columns

There’s no need to name all the columns. You can easily remove unnecessary and unnamed columns. Alternatively, you can just leave them there if they don’t bother you.
